Ahhh, the tale of Fossey’s Frontignac Gin.
Originally heading in another direction, it was suggested by a local and well esteemed wine maker to use the luxurious Frontignac Grape as the base for our white grape gin. One taste of the intense floral and mesmerizing fruity flavour with underlying musk characteristics and there was no doubt that the Frontignac would be the shining glory of our White Grape Gin.
One small little sweet bottle was made to be sure we could truly capture the true uniqueness of this glorious fruit, and it was perfection!
There were actual tears of happiness, smiles of pure unadulterated joy, a few celebratory dances and small sense of confusion as we wanted to share with all this amazing triumph whilst simultaneously protecting every drop preciously captured in the one small darling bottle.
There was a call to action and much excitement was in the air as a large batch of Fossey’s Frontignac Gin began to come to life.
The anticipation mounted as the weeks went by and finally, FINALLY, the lid was lifted and tasting commenced.
What we were presented with then was a “unique opportunity to exert untapped creativity to positively navigate previously uncharted waters of a gin conundrum.”
In other words, it didn’t work.
But in true Fossey’s style, no one was deterred!
With a re-group of the experts and a tweak of extracting the gorgeous essence of the Frontignac Grape, married with our Gin through a triple distilling process and with a small wish and a prayer, the stars aligned and we were once again able to nestle into our comfort zone of making something sensationally unique with an ever present Fossey’s twist.
The Fossey’s Frontignac Gin made us work for every drop, and we’re absolutely certain that our dedication and unwavering loyalty to the dream of our White Grape Gin has paid off.
A subtly sweet Gin with stubborn undertones and challenging characteristics, but well balanced with the flavours of delight and happiness.
